આપણાં વડાપ્રધાન મનમોહનસિંહ પર અમેરિકન સામયિક ’ટાઈમ’એ આમુખ કથા (કવરસ્ટોરી) કરી, જેમાં એમને ’અન્ડરએચિવર’ ગણાવવામાં આવ્યા. લગભગ બે જ અઠવાડિયાં બાદ ભારતના પ્રસિદ્ધ સાપ્તાહિક સામયિક ’આઊટલૂક’એ ઓબામાને ’અન્ડરએચિવર’નો ’ખિતાબ’ આપતી કવરસ્ટોરી કરી. અહીં સામ્યતા એટલે સુધીની છે કે બન્ને સામયિકોમાં ’ધ અન્ડરએચિવર’ ટાઈટલનાં ફોન્ટ પણ એકસરખાં જ અને લાલ રંગનાં છે! અંદર છપાયેલ લેખ તો યથાર્થ સામગ્રી સાથેનો હતો પણ હવે આને બદલાની ભાવના કહેવી કે શું એ કોણ જાણે? રામ જાણે? ના, કદાચ મોહન! યા ફિર ઇસકે પીછે ભી કોઈ ઔરત કા હાથ હૈ? કહે છે ને કે, દરેક સફળ પુરુષની પાછળ એક સ્ત્રી હોય છે... મનમોહનસિંહની સફળતા (!!!) પાછળ સોનિયાજી છે એ કોણ નથી જાણતું?
એ જે હોય તે, અંગતપણે ગુજરાતી કહેવત ’જેવા સાથે તેવા’ ( હિન્દીમાં ’જૈસે કો તૈસા’ અને અંગ્રેજીમાં ’ટીટ ફોર ટેટ’) માં હું જરા પણ નથી માનતો. કૂતરું મને કરડે તો હું એનો બદલો લેવા એને સામે કરડવા ન જ જાઊં, એમાં મને જ નુક્શાન થવાનું. અને એ જ બાબત દરેક જગ્યા પર લાગુ કરવામાં મજા છે. બીજાને સબક શીખવવા આપણી જાતને કેટલી નીચે ઊતારીશું? માફ કરો અને મોજ કરો... જીવો અને જીવવા દો...

American magazine 'Times' published a coverstory based on our Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh stating him 'The Underachiever'. Almost after two weeks Indian magazine 'Outlook' published its coverstory using the same words 'The Underachiever' but the cover photo was replaced by American President Obama instead of Manmohan Singh! Even the fonts ane the font colour of the title are same to same. Inside stories are okay but should we call it revenge? Raam Jaane! No, probably Mohan Jaane!
There is a proverb in English, 'Tit for Tat'. personally I don't believe in 'Tit for Tat' rule because I can't bite a dog who has bitten me. Don't spoil your level just to teach others a moral. Stay precious stay special. Forgive and have fun. Live and let live.
